The history of Krnovské opravny goes back to 1872, since 1992 after the privatization it has been offering its services under the name Krnovské opravny a strojírny, s.r.o. (KOS) Today, the company successfully operates in the following areas:

• production, reconstruction, modernization and repair of passenger and freight railway carriages
• production, reconstruction and modernization of trams
• manufacture and repair of historic railway carriages
• engineering of rotating parts, including induction hardening, weldments and castings for wagon industry
